Sunday Service
We have a worshipservice every Sunday in Aalborg Valgmenighed except July because of Summer holiday. Our service starts at 10.30 am. We would love to have you with us!
Translation to English can be arranged. Please show up at 10.15 am, and let the hosts at the front door know that you are interested in translation. Our hosts will be happy to set up translation for you! You can also let us know you are attending beforehand by writing to kontakt@aavm.dk and we will set it up.
The hosts can also help you with any other query you might have!

Gudstjeneste
Kl.: 10:30 – 12:00
Gudstjenesten i Aalborg Valgmenighed er for alle aldre, typer og nationaliteter, når vi samler 100-150 mennesker til gudstjeneste. Der er også en plads til dig!
Orglet er byttet ud med et band. Der er en salme eller to, men også lovsang på dansk og engelsk. Prædikenen er på en gang ligefrem og nørdet, og er optaget af hvordan 2000 år gamle tekster har betydning for vores liv i dag. Under prædikenen er der forskellige programmer for børn under 14 med både leg og indhold.

Who or what is Aalborg Valgmenighed?
Aalborg Valgmenighed is within the framework of the Danish State Church, a creative and inspiring community of faith, which believes that Christianity is first and foremost a living relationship with a God who loves us and wants to be part of our lives. We are a community that invites both critical reflection and personal experience of Christian beliefs through inspirational teaching, dynamic worship, living spirituality and active service for people in our city.
Aalborg Valgmenighed is part of the Danish State Church and under the supervision of the local dean and bishop. We do not belong to any particular parish and have independent finances without a subsidy from the state. As a valgmenighed, we have great freedom to celebrate the sunday service in untraditional ways, and our community is characterized by high energy, many volunteers and unpretentiousness. We call it “state church in new ways”. You can call it what ever you want to – but please come visit us first.
We hope you will feel at home as you enter the door of Aalborg Valgmenighed. Hopefully, the door is already open when you arrive and you will be greeted by some of the very different people who together make up a big and diverse family that is Aalborg Valgmenighed.
Vision
Our vision is to create spiritual, social and cultural transformation by bringing people together in loving God, loving life and loving Aalborg.
Loving God – Because God is a passionate God who calls on our hearts.
Loving life – because God has created life for all of us to enjoy it and to take care of it in all its forms in our lives and in others.
Loving Aalborg – Because God loves cities and all the many different people who live in them.
Mission
Our mission is to call people into personal faith, to become followers of Jesus Christ, and responsible members of the church.
We do this by:
